Intelligent System Week 1

Week 1

On the first week, we were introduced to the course materials and tasks. We were also introduced to AI, a brief history of AI, definition of AI and Machine Learning and how they work. AI has 4 components consisting of Thinking Humanly, Thinking Rationally, Acting Humanly, and Acting Rationally. We learned that a Total Turing Test has 6 components including Natural Language Processing, Knowledge Representation, Automated Reasoning, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Robotics.

We learned that the foundation of AI contains philosophy, mathematics, psychology, control theory & cybernetics, linguistics, neuroscience, and economics.

We learned that AI today is used in numerous domains such as speech recognition, game playing, data mining, machine translation, medical diagnosis, financial analysis, etc.

We also learned about Intelligent Agent Design and the definition of Acting Rationally. We also learned of the environmental factors affecting the agents and the different types of agents.
